None of us ever know what to do in any given situation. Nor have we ever. Any advice we have ever gotten was speculation at best. There is no right way or wrong way to live. It’s all trial and errror. We just go for it and hope it feels good. You’ll never know unless to try. Take a shot. It’s all you can do.
Forgiving others, the world, society, crime, individuals, and ourselves is not a benevolence aimed at the focus of our anger, but a release of us to from the negativity. This is why it must be complete and final. If we ever revisit the thought we have emancipated ourselves from the debilitating stranglehold the situation had on us. Continuing to store the situation for random visits keeps the stress alive. We forgive “them” for ourselves. Let it go!
Unlike other heard animals, even cows, when bulls sense a storm they run toward it. They keep running until they are out the other side. Animals that run away, eventually get caught by the storm. By running in the same direction as the moving storm, they remain in the middle of it much longer. When storms of life approach, if we do not procrastinate, ignore, back shelf or run, but use all of our focus and energy to address them immediately, continuously, and completely, the impact on our lives will be minimal, lessons will be learned, fear will be mitigated and we will have empowered ourselves. Running away never works.
To be calm in the face of chaos, peaceful when all around you is in an uproar, and mindful enough to appreciate the magnificence of your experience is to be truly aligned with the rhythm of life. Many of the situations we encounter are beyond our control. The number one leading cause of stress is the frustration over not being able to impact conditions to manufacture our experience according to our intention. Their times were acceptance becomes necessary while letting go is the more sensible choice. Many confused, letting go with giving up and failing, but it is much more noble to admit when we have no control than it is to continually trying to force change. There is no peace when force is employed. True contentment through enlightenment comes by allowing. “BE still and know that I am God“
Even the best intentioned of us are not constantly performing benevolent, compassionate, charitable or noteworthy acts of kindness or exceptionalism. We are not always winning and succeeding at life, love, career and hobby. Most of us, even with our genuine intent, will only experience intermittent bursts of compassion and excellence. When we recognize and appreciate the actions and accomplishments of others, we feel their joy and excitement. This affords us the visceral impact of the condition as we share in the magnificence of life. Whosoever is the author of the action has the added joy if they are aware of others drawing pleasure from their actions. Positivity tastes best when shared.
Many times I feel angry because things aren’t going my way. If plans fall apart, people aren’t acting the way I would like, bills getting crazy or I’m not feeling great, it ruins my mood and puts me in a bad place. I end up with a pretty crappy attitude. Or; I started my day with an attitude, threw in unrealistic expectations, began judging people with resentment and did not focus on all I had to be thankful, so my day fell apart. Which was cause, which was effect?
It was certainly the bad mood that was the catalyst for every uncomfortable condition . Be it aura, vibration or point of attraction (whichever you prefer) our perspective is the foundation of our experience. Want to soar to new heights of joy, mind the attitude to gain the altitude!
Wake up Greet the day with gratitude. Do some self care Tend to societal/communal/family/survival responsibilities. Spend some time contributing to the collective you draw from. Enjoy the days attributes. Relax a bit and be social Retire/renew/rejuvinate.
Repeat indefinitely!
Stress and complexity are not mandatory they are self imposed.
While everything may appear to matter; Nothing really matters outside of the joy of experience. Life is all about experience and the emotions we draw from them which is completely determined by our perspectives.
Being present in the moment, being aware of your surroundings and paying attention to the people places and events is living. Having your mind in the past or projecting what’s to come, being judgmental and critical, hoping and wishing for other than what is unfolding is self- flagellation. Life is a miracle and experiencing it in real time is the pleasure and privilege of being alive. When our minds are not rooted in the awe of what is unfolding we are barely on the fringe of life. Would you go to a concert and out in earplugs and read a book? Who goes to a 5 star restaurant and has dry toast and water? Embrace life. Life is right now ! ONLY ONLY ONLY NOW.
To address a concern, fix a problem or remedy an uncomfortable condition the first step is to eliminate the cause. All cause is mind. Thought is the catalyst for experience. “As a man thinks, so shall he be”! Any attempt to alter life situations without changing our thoughts and perspectives is like continuing to pour water in a bucket filled with holes and trying to stop the leaks. It can’t happen until we plug the holes. Change your mind, change your life. Our problems are not “out there” or “them”. Every condition we experience is being expressed from within and projected into form by our focus, attention and emotion. We are in control. We have the power. You have power!
“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child—our own two eyes. All is a miracle.” -Thic Nhat Hanh
The idea that life exists at all is miraculous. There is a billion to one’s odds that any of us would appear let alone grow and survive. How a cut heals itself, flowers and weeds grow through rock, our planet remaining in orbit around the Sun close enough to sustain our life, growth and resources but not close enough to cause harm. Birds and wildlife protect their young through storms and from predators that we may hear their song and watch them frolicking. I dare you to mention ANYTHING that is NOT a miracle! Once we realize this, and treat it all as such, life will cease to be a struggle and suddenly become the amazing adventure it really is. Be mindful. Be grateful. BE AMAZED!
