The vast majority of humanity does not give a second thought to the point or meaning of their lives or life in general. Those that have a natural curiosity, are broken into several different groups. There are nihilists that believe there is no point in anything so attempting to find meaning is also meaningless, absurdists that believes life in the universe is meaningless and to search for meaning puts us in direct conflict with the meaninglessness of life, while existentialism acknowledges that life has no point less the point we give it. I personally feel that all these philosophies may relate to life in the universe on a macro scale, but for the individual, I feel the true meaning of our existence is whatever drives us from within. Years after each of us are gone, the meaning we created/discovered well once again the pointless, but as we lived, we made a contribution to the melody of the universe. Do not seek meaning, CREATE IT.
The opposite of this statement is also true. While trying to create anything, if we think of the result and cannot feel comfortable within it, cannot actually see ourselves feeling joy from the situation, do not expect it to unfold easily, it will be a significant struggle to accomplish. Our thoughts and associated feelings connected to those thoughts about whatever we are attempting to create is more important than the steps we are taking and the plan we may have laid out. The way we think about any endeavor going into it will determine how we address it and the result. Reach for the best feeling thought you can even if you need to recall last successes to bring about the feeling. Emotion is stronger than action.
How we live has a greater impact on our emotions than what we accomplish ever will. Some may define us by our more prominent milestones, but that does nothing for a level of enjoyment. Process of living lies in the doing, the learning, growing, sharing, And changing. With most people as soon as a goal is accomplished another needs to be set, which is ironclad proof that achievement and accomplishment it’s not as tasty as navigating the challenges obstacles and tasks required to achieve the goal. Sometimes the tougher it is the more we enjoy it. “Amplectere provocationem”. EMBRACE THE CHALLENGE.
Whether it is a great pitch or a lousy pitch the determining factor in a batter getting a hit is his swing. The same is true for every component of life. We’ve all heard the phrase make lemonade out of lemons. Simply put the truth of life is how we react to conditions we experience is more important than the conditions we are exposed to. People win great fortunes and squander it away on debauchery and excess. They lose friends and family members over lifestyle changes while others struggling in poverty enjoy happy productive lives. This truth also sheds light on the fact that happiness, success and joy comes from within not from external conditions, yet so many of us are seeking improved conditions with the hopes that they will bring us joy. Every experience of life is determined by your swing. Step up to the batters box and swing for the fences.
When we hear this word we think of a sinner reforming their ungodly ways. It tends to represent lost souls needing redemption. Most of us will never think we need repentance. What is sin anyway? Take away the religious connotation sin is merely actions that are contrary to one’s own well being as well as socially disruptive. Knowing that all conditions of life are first ideas, thoughts and possibilities, usually born of our perceptions and perspectives, then sin is actually damaging thought. To Repent is to begin thinking and viewing life from the lense of love, gratitude, peace, service and acceptance. Nothing will yield a more rapid return on your investment than repentance
Most of us view the challenges of life as problems. It is natural to be disappointed when something unexpected gets in the way of our plans and causes us to take actions we hadn’t thought of. No one really likes the unexpected. Challenges, obstacles, problems, roadblocks or whatever you want to call them are mostly associated with grief, pain and disappointment. There is much to be said for the adage: “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”. Folks tend to grasp onto that for comfort when the going gets tough. What if I told you that the obstacles we navigate around, challenges we overcome and problems that we solve define us? Would you embrace them? The truth of our life’s events is that we need such situations to give life meaning. If we look closely at our life, and human history, everything we are aware of has been the navigation of obstacles and the overcoming of challenges. Every action ever taken by man, all creations, machines, equipment, roads, bridges , fashionable sunglasses, communication and entertainment were all solutions to problems. Thinking that having problems is a problem is actually the problem since problems are the catalyst for our growth, improvement development, and passions. The creative ingenuity of man, all of our talents and gifts have been for the express purpose of problem solving. When we extrapolate all of our actions and creations, we will see that the problem we have been endeavoring to solve is our search for peace, comfort, and well being. Had there never been an obstacle, if the 1st man had everything he needed for total joy, there never would have been ANYTHING—ANY THING!. The universe would never have unfolded in the synchronistic dance of discovery had there not been the NEED. Then life would never have happened. Looking at life this way, challenges are welcome as they are the catalyst that drives us. Obstacles are the genesis of creation and the foundation of ingenuity. Joy always follows the subjugation of a challenge as the prize for a job well done. God’s infinite wisdom designed this obstacle course with perfection. The greatest component of the course is the free will and perspective. People that see the challenge as the valuable impetus they are know the true flavor of life. Those that see obstacles as problems only feel grief and despair at their arrival to struggle through them as part of the burden of life. The events of the past year or more have certainly challenged all of us. Have you gotten stronger? Going forward, seeing the opportunity in every obstacle will allow us to look at life with renewed optimism and purpose. As long as we continue to see PROBLEMS, life will be a burden. By seeing opportunity, life will be an exercise in growth. Once again,,,,,, it all boils down to CHOICE. What do you see? THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION
While we were all created in perfection as we add our intentions into the void of the life, we began an endeavor to design it, our flaws and imperfections proceed on natural state of perfection. None of us navigate this life without issue. If our eyes and minds become trained on noticing the flaws of others, we will miss out on the beauty and magnificent of life. To live with true joy and support nurturing relationships of unconditional love one must only be able to notice the beauty and others.
Smoking is not good for us. For those that don’t, it’s unlikely WE will start. Drugs an alcohol are killers. If you live without them well into adulthood, there is little danger that this awful habit will impact your life. Lying, cheating, stealing are very destructive practices. Most honest individuals will never fall victim to such behavior. HOWEVER WE ARE ALL IN DANGER OF THE DISEASE OF ATTITUDE DEGENERATION.
It’s starts very innocent then all of a sudden we are full blown habitual complainers and chronically Negative.
Unless we rehab from this malady quickly, our lives will spiral downward before our eyes. We must be ever so vigilant to monitor our attitude and conversations to avoid getting sucked down the drain. DON’T COMPLAIN. REMAIN SANE.
Science tells us no two of anything are completely identical. All of existence has its own unique attributes. In the natural world we can see the magnificence of diversity. Like an intricate mosaic, the contrasts complement detail. In humanity, we all are imbued with talents, passions and expertise that drive us. Like pieces of a puzzle, all of our parts are necessary to complete the picture of harmonious community, yet humans are the only natural life that intentionally suppresses its authentic self in order to appear like others. This abomination of natural authenticity diminishes the spectacular possibilities available. Embrace your authentic self. You be you. The world needs it!
