Being Well is Well Being

While feeling good should be our default condition,It is not maintained without intention. One mustn’t have to work hard for well-being, but we need to be aware of the conditions we allow ourselves to be exposed to to safeguard our peace and our health.
Health and wellness can be easily lost if we become complacent and fall into negative habits.
As with everything in our experience, our thoughts, expectations and perspectives will determine the outcome.
Be well, stay well, live well.

It’s in there

“He makes me furious”. “ that news channel really makes me angry”. “ I have a coworker that drives me crazy”.
“The bills have me livid”.
WRONG! The anger is already in there.

The story of The Empty Boat by Thích Nhất Hạnh

A monk decides to meditate alone. Away from his monastery, he takes a boat and goes to the middle of the lake, closes his eyes and begins to meditate.

After a few hours of unperturbed silence, he suddenly feels the blow of another boat hitting his. With his eyes still closed, he feels his anger rising and, when he opens his eyes, he is ready to shout at the boatman who dared to disturb his meditation. But when he opened his eyes, saw that it was an empty boat, not tied up, floating in the middle of the lake…

At that moment, the monk achieves self-realization and understands that anger is within him; it simply needs to hit an external object to provoke it.

After that, whenever he meets someone who irritates or provokes his anger, he remembers; the other person is just an empty boat.

Anger is inside me.

🌷

The story of “The Empty Boat” is a Zen Buddhist parable that teaches the lesson of self-reflection and the importance of recognizing the source of one’s emotions. It highlights the idea that anger is a feeling that arises from within and that external events or circumstances only trigger it. The monk’s realization that the boat was empty helped him understand that the cause of his anger was within himself, and not due to the actions of others. The story serves as a reminder to look within and to recognize the role of one’s own thoughts and emotions in shaping our experiences.

First is last and last is first

There is no higher display of unconditional love than to use our talents to serve others.
To have a positive impact on the world and simultaneously draining our own sense of calm and peace actually cancels the universal improvement we have made.
Doing good for people is fantastic but we must ALWAYS put our own well-being first.
To be In any state of Stress personally will draw more joy out of the universe than we could ever add with our deeds.

Hoist with thine own petard

There are so many that are so angry about so much these days that I am sure the targets of their wrath do not really care. Anger and rage is self-inflicted pain and grief.
What times will we encounter situations that do not please us, choosing joy means taking positive action or walking away. Any expression of anger is only going to cause pain to whomever is holding onto it.
All we have accomplished is magnifying our grief over the situation that this pleases us not unlike rubbing salt in a wound there is nothing to be gained.

Better is Better

Lifetimes of continuous improvement and positive growth are much more fulfilling than living with guilt, remorse self-loathing, disappointment, and hopelessness. The individual that is taking steps towards improvement is more likely to be experiencing joy than those that are accepting less than they know they could be.

Faith

There was a time when what you consider your safe zone was outside your level of comfort.
Growth requires moving beyond the safe and comfortable into the unknown.
A ship will never get anywhere if it remains in the harbor.
We have no idea what we are capable of until we try. Push your limit a bit each day, you’ll be surprised where you can go.

Our bodies are designed to thrive through joy, happiness, fun and pleasure while degrading in stress, anguish and negativity. So the better we are, the better we will be.
Choose peace, fun, positivity and pleasure. It’s the recipe for a long healthy life.

THE PRESENT

So many of us define ourselves by the experiences of the past. We end up limiting our possibilities for the future by using the past as our gaurd rail for our undertakings.
The past only exists as memory. Thought void of form with no potential for present moment impact on life other than the energy we assign to it.
We can take lessons from what has passed, but need to live in the present looking forward to a future with no limits. We cannot create in the past. If we are rooted there, we will never grow.
The singular moment of now is like a box full of miracles loaded with possibilities. That is why we call it the PRESENT.
Keeps eyes focused forward lest we drive off the road.

Hustle or Flow

When we discover our passion and direct it toward making a positive impact on society, success flows naturally and peace envelopes our lives. We experience a synchronous dance of rhythmic flow with the Universe.
If we attempt to stockpile resources out of fear, following the direction and promises of those that would prey on our vulnerability and insecurity, we will never find our place.
Follow your bliss with faith. Magnificence awaits the humble, selfless soul.
