It’s not “Out There”

We are all looking for happiness and peace. Our problem is that we are looking in the wrong place. Too many of us think that that we need ‘SOMETHING”, or some condition, better yet, the stars need to be in alignment and then I will be happy. But; there is nothing “OUT THERE”. we look to outside conditions to bring us what we need, forgetting that the conditions we see “OUT THERE” came from within us.

LIFE IS OUR INNER MOST THOUGHTS AND BELIEFS BEING PROJECTED ON THE SCREEN WE CALL REALITY.

Success, peace, love and happiness, are states of mind that stem from gratitude and overall love of life. Once we are in this state of mind, all of our dreams will come true. We have been living “ass-backward” hoping for our creations to bring us peace, while we can only create peaceful conditions when we are at peace.

Searching for Happiness causes grief, realizing happiness eliminates it

When we look to the external reality all around us, we must cease from expecting it to SAVE us, and realize that we are seeing what we have put there. Looking within for those situations that have restricted our ability to live in joy and changing how we view life, will then put an entirely different picture outside the window of our creation.

NOTING EXTERNAL WILL ALTER YOUR LIFE AS ALL EXTERNAL CONDITIONS COME FROM WITHIN. COME TO KNOW WHO YOU REALLY ARE AND THE REWARD WILL FOLLOW!

Happiness is not the result of getting everything you want in life; IT IS THE BIRTHPLACE OF IT!

The Real Thing

To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.” – William Shakespeare

images (6)

I woke up this morning with that quote running through my head. Where do those things come from. There are times when I end up with the Gillegans Island song, or the old Schaefer Beer jingle in my head,,,,,What’s up with that?

Anyway, no other Author, Philosopher, Poet does justice to that famous Shakespearean line than Thoreau. There are at least a dozen popular quotes attributed to him that illustrate the value of authenticity. We each must follow our own path, or better yet, forge it! If we use a map, we are not creating at all, but reacting to what others have created. All of us has a song in our head, a path we george-lizos-metaphysical-me-authenticitymust journey, and it is uniquely our own. When we are reading someone else’s directions, we are not being true to who we are. In essence, we are robbing society of the diversity it is due from our specific contribution. We are copying the actions of others and denying the common good the piece we were supposed to add.
“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.”~Henry David Thoreau~

Most of us are following a map diligently and wondering why we are not enjoying the journey. It is because we are on someone else’s journey! It is also very difficult to succeed when you are not being genuine. Once we begin following our bliss, success comes easily. There is no advantage to living life in attempt to please others. All that will happen is you MAY please 1 person and the cost will be your own happiness. You can’t be who others want you to be and find true happiness. Conversely, once you become your genuine self, others will be pleased and inspired by you. People will want to be around you, for who YOU are!
Too many of us comprise our true self at an early age with the need to “fit in”. We toss aside that which 261423_129627313785902_5889789_nwill effortlessly take us to Joy and replace it with the mask of insecurity. As we endeavor to fit into the mold of mediocrity, we fool others but not ourselves. It is like wearing shoes that do not fit because everyone else is wearing them. They may look good to the outside world, but is only us that feels the discomfort. When we traverse the field of creation with discomfort and compromise, we fail to yield the fruit we were meant to bear. Our lives end up void of meaning, filled with grief and despair. There is no value in pleasing others at the cost of losing yourself.
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”~Henry David Thoreau~

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.”~Henry David Thoreau~

Listen to your heart, do what you do with the least resistance. It may seem like it is nothing, too easy, can’t be the key to the kingdom, but it is. You definitely get further faster when you are paddling down-stream, it is almost effortless and yields the greatest advancement.
Go For It! Be uniquely YOU! Follow your bliss. Toss away the map. AND DON’T QUIT!

THE SADDEST TRUTH OF MAN IS THAT WE TRY SO HARD TO BE WHAT WE ARE NOT, FEARING THAT WHAT WE ARE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH!

The Co$t of Living

changeMost people you meet , (even successful ones) will be quick to lament over the price of everything these days.  You can’t turn around or scratch your ass without someone, some agency, some government or company getting something from you for the pleasure of living.

While it is certainly true that there is a price for EVERYTHING, the true entrepenuer recognises the difference between a cost, and an investment!

COST- WHAT IS GIVEN UP IN TRADE IN ORDER TO ACQUIRE SOMETHING ELSE.

INVESTMENT- TRANSFERRING AN ASSET FROM ONE FORM TO ANOTHER FOR AN INTENDED BENEFIT.

So many seem to view life as though it is all supposed to be a party. While it is true that we create our experiences through our focus and choices, we can avoid unpleasentness if we are diligent with our minds. But as you can see from the above conditions; a little destruction is required to break through the comfort zone to the next level of joy!
As we examine the costs involved with life, we can see that there is more than the the need to contribute physical resources. Life takes emotional, and spiritual equity from us as well.

Most of lives our lives surrounded by struggle. We experience pain, sorrow, dissapointment and grief all the time. To the casual observer, pain is a cost, something we have given up. But to the SPIRITUAL ENTREPENEUR, IT IS AN IVESTMENT!

eggYou can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs!
Even the finest Mansion was born from the destruction of trees and soil.
When a couple marries, that means children and siblings are leaving their home, one family is broken to create …another.
LOOK AT THE PAIN OF CHILDBIRTH

A scar on your body is always the stronger part. Skin that makes up a scar is thicker than the skin around it. This is actually true for emotional, psychological, and spiritual scars as well.
The saying: ” What does not kill us, makes us st…ronger” is a fact. The sturdiest, most resilient, balanced individuals I know are the folks that have been to hell and back.
I am not claiming we need pain and suffering to be strong, but I am saying everything that challanges us, also nurtures us.
Trials and tribulations are not desireable, but when prevelant, should be embraced as lessons.
Most children have no desire to go to school. In fact thay may claim it is torture or cruel and unusual punishment. But when they are successful adults, they look back and see the valus in what they viewed as torture at the time.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.~ Helen Keller ~

Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which,in prosperous circumstances, would have lain dormant. ~ Horace 65-68 B.C. ~

While no one wants to spend money, or suffer. you only grow through making an investment in life.

“Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – Andre Gide

Life is lived to the fullest when put aside our fear and venture beyond the comfort zone. The pain and challenges we navigate through are not the universe taxing our well being, but an ivestment that will return us joy many times over.
“Come to the edge”, he said.
They said, “We are afraid”.
“Come to the edge”, he said.
They came.
He pushed them …
and they flew.

~ Guillauame Apollinaire ~

emergeBreak out of the shell of mediocrity. Take riskd, push the envelope for the greatest experience possible. Do not be afraid to invest in life!
Live Well
Laugh Often
Love Much!
Find the leesons in your struggles
See the growth in your challenges
embrace the love around you when in pain.

It’s all good: GOD DID NOT CREATE PAIN, WE CHOOSE IT AS A PERSPECTIVE!

Your Piece= Your Peace

So often, we discount time. We are all looking for something, chasing a dream, or searching for the “Magic Bullet” that will stream Happiness and Joy throughout our experience. We plan, we watch, we wait for the right time. Sometimes we compare, and judge others, all in our pursuit. This ends up being wasted time, blank canvass, an ebb in the tide of JOY.
There is no such “TANGIBLE THING” as time. We can’t see it, feel it, or hold it. Time is not a Spiritual Truth, but a construct of our FINITE physical minds.
In the Absolute, there is ONLY NOW!
“The present moment of NOW is our PRESENT from ALL THAT IS, with which we will present, the creations we have formed with our gifts and talents. NOW is when we create, use it wisely!”box
Before, and after are only thoughts. Thoughts can only occur,,,,NOW! It is always NOW! Each moment is a piece of canvass for us to paint our reality upon. Do not chase a dream, of search for Happiness. Remember what Glenda showed Dorothy,,,,”You had it all along” We fail to see the forest through the trees. Happiness and Joy is wrapped up in “THE PRESENT” Open it,,,,use it! ENJOY Life!

A far as making use of THE PRESENT,,, we must use “OUR GIFT”. In 1st Corinthians 12, we are taught all about ONE BODY-MANY PARTS——-and SPIRITUAL GIFTS!
We each have something unique and special. That thing that you love and would do, or participate in even if you didn’t get paid for it. That activity that you can’t do without feeling good about yourself. That is the Gift you were given by GOD, to use to “RE-GIFT” to the COMMON GOOD. Life is like a puzzle and each of us is a different part. If we hold back our piece, the puzzle of life will not be complete. EVERYONE will suffer.
To Thine Own Self Be True! Do not compromise your integrity. Do not be what others want you to be. Do not be a doormat, or a people pleaser. Follow your Bliss. We need what you have to be complete. The mosaic of life is exponentially more beautiful when all parts are genuine,,,,NO AFTERMARKET PARTS ALLOWED!
“God has given us Gifts (talents, abilities, and creative desires) as our tool to return a gift to Humanity, we are all parts of the Puzzle of Life, each with a unique piece to add. Be true to yourself! We need your authenticity!”
imagesWhen we add our piece to the puzzle of life, everyday every NOW is a beautiful beginning. Meet the sunrise with enthusiasm. GIVE IT YOUR GENUINE BEST and the world will grow in LOVE!

Judgement Free

ImageI am pretty sure what people want most is to be happy. No, change that, I’m POSITIVE what most people want is to be happy. No, let me try again; Positively Speaking, what everyone wants most in this world is to be happy. The problem is; we don’t know why we’re not!

For the longest time, I had things “bass- akward”! I was always looking for “things”, and “circumstances”, to bring me my happiness: “As soon as I meet the right women, I’ll be happy”! Then,” as soon as we buy the right house”, I’ll be happy! And, “If only I could lose 20 pounds”, I’ll be happy. But acquiring the things, and achieving the circumstances, only yielded the need for more things and greater circumstances to bring me to the much elusive state of happiness I was searching for.

Than I learned something quiet startling! Being happy is a choice! I can choose at any time to be happy. I also learned that most of what appears in my life is a result of choices I have made. I learned that we attract to our lives conditions that are related to how we think, and feel. This is “The Law of Attraction”. This is a universal truth.

If I become grateful for the things I now take for granted, and change the way I look at life, I can be happy without any conditions being met. This next part is a killer: Once I decide that I am happy, all the things I thought I needed, will show up anyway. But, there’s a catch. There’s always a catch! The secret lies in how I look at life! “ What so ever you sow, so shall you reap”!

There are a number of shifts in perception I will need to incorporate into my attitude toward this experience I call life. The one I want to look at first is called JUDGMENT. There are many philosophers, and poets, prophets, and spiritual leaders that have taught us much about judgment. In Christian Scripture, the Teacher from Nazareth tells us: “Judge not, lest ye be judged”! Sounds like good advice. But why? So what if we judge, and are judged. Well, what I read into that quote is that by putting judgment on a thing, person, action, condition, way of life, or circumstance, we create a label that is now part of our perception of life. All negative labels create situations that will cause us to be uncomfortable, and rob us of our happiness. These labels establish conditions that we find ourselves in, like having the label stuck all over our bodies, we can’t get away from them. By deciding a thing is “bad”, or “wrong”, or even just “unacceptable”, we now have a condition that will cause us pain. We end up all caught up in this bad thing, that we determined was bad, and now our own determination is coming back to haunt us. The key word here was deciding! Should I decide that previously held notions of bad, wrong, undesirable, or uncomfortable, were nothing more than actions different than actions I would take, shrug them off, and go about my business, then there is no need for me to decide to be bothered by them.

The truth of the matter is that within every ac-tion, (act of creation), humans can experience, lies an opportunity to find love, peace, and compassion hidden somewhere within it. The same is true for natural disasters, crimes, and acts of violence. For with each incident that we label as bad, there lies tremendous opportunity for compassion, healing, charity, forgiveness, and love. So, instead of looking at the tragedy as good, or bad, we could  just look at as part of life, and focused on all the opportunity we have to reach out to those in need. For every story of grief and pain, there is two stories of courage and compassion. For every situation of loss, there is 10 demonstrations of unselfish giving. The oldimages adage of the glass being half empty, or half full is not just an inspiring little quote, it is one of life’s secrets to happiness.

There is a nation wide fitness center that claims to have a “Judgment Free Zone”. I think it is an advertising tool to allow us to feel comfortable utilizing their establishment in spite of the fact that we may not already be “buff”. After all, if we were “buff” we wouldn’t really need them. Ploy or not, they may have started something! That is where I want to be, right in the middle of a “Judgment Free Zone”. Wouldn’t it be great if we all created one of those! Let’s give it a try. The zone of my influence, that is the area I come in contact with, will be a “Judgment Free Zone”. I am going to try for a few weeks, and see if that can help me decide to be happy. Won’t you join me? All you need do, is suspend your opinion of right, wrong, good, bad, acceptable , and unacceptable, realize that anything you encounter that does not seem to be aligned with your idea of spreading joy, as simply “ another way”, than look for an opportunity to bring joy to it. I think that will bring about some changes. No, wait, I know that will make things better. Hold on now, I AM POSITIVE  that you will find more happiness this way.

We may not change the world with this, but I am POSITIVE, it won’t hurt anything.

POSITIVLEY SPEAKING, it’s worth a try.

At ONE- Affirmations for Acceptance

To atone means to reconcile. That is what forgiveness achieves; reconciliation. When we forgive another their transgressions,(perceived, or actual, against us, or others), we are reconciling the relationship with them. We can again be “as One”

 Affirm:

The power of loveflows through all living things, as I forgive, I allow the flow through me.

By reconciling withall I am living in the flow of Gods’ Spirit

No action, conditionor imagined transgression will prevent life from freely flowing through thebeing of me.

Life is Love, I AmLife, I am Love.

Forgivenessis the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.
MarkTwain

As I endeavor to write on a topic related toSpirit, it is always challenging to remain focused solely on the topic, as withall matters of Truth and personal empowerment, they are all intricatelyentwined components of themselves. Atonement, forgiveness, acceptance, andjudgment are all integral parts of one another. If we do not judge, we will not need to forgive, and there will be noatonement needed. When we accept all behaviors and conditions as creativeexperience with value and lessons, as well as serving as the catalyst for ourchoices, then we have nothing to forgive. Which would be more important? Endeavoringto forgive, or, refraining from judgment, living life in acceptance, andcircumventing the need to forgive? It depends on where we are.

 Affirm:

All people are attempting to dowhat is best for themselves, I accept all behavior as creative contributions tomy experience of Life.

That which I perceive as “bad” isnothing more than a condition that does not serve my higher good, and thereforeoffers me the opportunity to create the opposing condition.

I am grateful for all myopportunity to create a Life filled with Love, & Peace.

Thepractice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing ofthe world.
MarianneWilliamson

“In fact, not forgiving is like drinking rat poison andwaiting for the rat to die” — Anne Lamott

images

For the most part the only one we ever hurt when we do notforgive is ourselves. By holding on to resentment and anger, we block the flowof good, and prevent ourselves from basking in the joy of unity. Many religionstell us that” God Forgives Our Sins”. Being that forgiveness serves only to alleviate the sting of animosity,God has no need to forgive. I personallybelieve there is no SIN, only actions that are not for the highest good, andGod accepts all that we create as another patch in the Tapestry of Life, withactions that do not serve the common good, prevailing as lessons andcontrasting conditions with which to create improved states of Being. Thatleaves “God” no need to forgive, as there is nothing that needs forgivenesswhen (Unconditional Love is the State of Being).

Affirm:

God has created All That Is, and all that God has created must be good.

There is no good, orbad, all that is, Is, I AM all that IS.

To hate another is to hate yourself.
We all live within the one Universal Mind.
What we think about another, we think about ourselves.
If you have an enemy, forgive him now.
Let all bitterness and resentment dissolve.
You owe your fellow man love; show him love, not hate.
Show charity and goodwill toward others
and it will return to enhance your own life
in many wonderful ways. ~ Brian Adams ~

Personal Responsibilty

imagesCAVNPMHBMadness, or Peace,,It is a choice!
At first glance it would appear that our world is in s stateof chaos. That is probably because IT IS! Thousands of years ago, a primitivecreature roamed the country side foraging and hunting for food, constructing primitive structures for shelter from the elements, andlooking after its young. Were they happy? Dunno! Did they live in fear? Dunno! Were they self-sufficient? DEFINITELY! There was no other way to be.No creature on this planet ever relied upon another for its survival, save thevery young! There was order, sense, accountability. It was simple; Sit aroundsmelling roses, and gazing at clouds,(there was no internet, PlayStation, football to watch, or NASCAR back then) and you will either starve, get eaten by a creature, or succumb to exposure. The rules were simple andeveryone was aware of them. No one ever said, “I didn’t know, no one told me,do over, give me another chance”.
Fast forward a few millenniums and we have madestrident advances in technology, intelligence, achievement, understanding, andhuman potential. Mankind has evolved to place of paramount importance on thisplanet. We dominate the arena of life on earth. Are we happy? Dunno! Do we livein fear? Dunno! Are we self-sufficient? NOT SO MUCH!!! Therein lays the problemof humanity! The lack of personal responsibility! This will bethe Achilles Heel of Humanity.
“If it’s never our fault, we can’t take responsibility forit. If we can’t take responsibility for it, we’ll always be its victim”~RichardBach~

EVERYBODY-SOMEBODY-NOBODY SYNDROME!! THE DEATH OF A SOCIETY!
Everybody thinks somebody will do it, so nobody does!
Second, problem is the ILLUSION OF ENTITLEMENT!
If I don’t do it, they will do it for me!

Where in the evolutionary process did these components come in? This is not progress, it is regress!
I understand the need for Charities, Social programs, Gov’tassistance for those rare cases of people, and communities that have fallenvictim to circumstance. We are too compassionate of a species to stand by andwitness suffering. However, for the efforts of THE FEW, to have to SUSTAINMULTITUDES, is a gross abuse of human compassion.

I would not be so primitive minded to expect werevert back to “SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST”, but we need to at least expectpersonal responsibility. It is noble for agencies to solicitsupport for entire villages in 3rd world countries, where resources arescarce. It is admirable to lend a hand to those whosephysical abilities are not equal to the masses. And it is certainlyBenevolent of society to all pitch in and take care of those that have suffereddisasters of nature. But any responsible species would draw a line “SOMEWHERE”!
More and more members of our society are stepping forwardedDEMANDING that they are cared for, nurtured, and supported by those that havetaken care of themselves. When People find lifeimagesCAV1EECN challenging, they hire a lawyerand battle the courts to get someone else to take care of their needs. Thenthey protest and complain and ban together until their numbers are staggering. Then the Government needs to acquiesce to their demand for the VOTES!
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY HAS DIED, THAT IS THEBEGINNING OF THE END!

Until the majority of those that ARE DEMANDING THEIRENTITLEMENT, come to the realization that the effort they

put into screamingfor assistance would yield a better result being direct toward meeting theirown needs, we will be in a downward spiral as a species. Government assistance, social programs, charitable organizations, bleeding hearts, and compassionatepeople, may all mean well, but have been greatly taken advantage of.
With technology what it is; if corporations did not rapecommunities, indigent areas of the world could utilize technology to beself-sustaining. Physically challenged individual could offer their talents tothe common good in ways that do not require the ability they lack. We can allsurvive if we accept that survival is not a right, but the by-product of usrising to our particular challenge.
NECESSITY BEING THE MOTHER OF INVENTION, tells us; Wherethere is a will, there is a way! Everyone must determine their personalwill, and be responsible for finding their way. Not until that day, willHumanity be moving forward again.
“The happiest people in the world are those who feelabsolutely terrific about themselves, and this is the natural outgrowth ofaccepting total responsibility for every part of their life”~Brian Tracy~
“One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words; it isexpressed in the choices one makes… and the choices we make are ultimately ourresponsibility”~Eleanor Roosevelt~

Serve others, Find Yourself

soldiers“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.”
~Rabindranath Tagore~

Life is a team sport, a Famliy-style endeavor. Any one that does not see that is missing the point. We were all created to serve each other. Each of us has different skills and abilities that we bring to the table to make the picture complete. Finding real joy entails discovering the gifts you have,; (and you will know them as they are what you do best, and enjoy most), then using them for the common good.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”~Mohandas Gandhi~

Charity and altruisim is the best way to feel the pleasure of service to others, but just doing your job with love, caring for your family, and being corteous to strangers is SERVICE!
THERE IS NO GIVING BACK,,,ONLY DOING YOUR PART, AND WE ALL HAVE ONE!
Everywhere you look in life you will see the parallel:working
sports team, business, puzzle, military, mosiac, tapestry, family, beehive, ant colony, wolf pack, volunteer group, church, ad- infinitumn! Everything that exisits, relys on everything else, and everything has a responsibility to do it’s part!
WHEN YOU FIND YOUR SPOT, YOU’LL KNOW BY THE JOY IT BRINGS YOU!
DO UNTO OTHERS WAS NOT A LABORIOUS COMMAND, BUT THE SECRET TO FINDING BLISS!

Do not go patting yourself on the back for helping others, as that will take the focus away from the service and onto self- aggrandizement. Use your ability to benefit the common good with humilty andwork2 passion, and joy will be your reward

I am who I am!

The Mask of insecurity destroys authenticity, and the genuine nature of the individual. So many of us seek approval & acceptance at the expense of who we really are. The 261423_129627313785902_5889789_ntendancy to compromise integrity and mortgage our identity for acceptance and comformity has robbed humanity of many needed perspectives.

Self actualized people are independent of the good opinion of others~Wayne Dyer~

Each of us has been infused with an individualized set of talents & abilities. WE are all as different & unique as our fingerprints, ( actually as everything in creation). This was by design. “The Source OF All That Is” endeavored to add diveristy and creativity ot It’s Creation, and we set out to make things uniform & organized. Genuine nature is random. We were meant to embrace our individaulity and use it to create & add more & more divirsity to this picture we call life.

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”~Buddha

Too many of us allow our differences to keep us apart. We toil to be the same as the nest guy, surpress our talents and keep hidden our unique perspectives if others do not agree with them. We are afraid of being judged harshly. But we were told not to judge, guystill we judge, and hence fear judgement. This robs humanity of the piece we were meant to put in the puzzle, leaving a gaping hole.
ARE YOU HERE? OR IS YOUR PIECE STILL IN YOUR POCKET?

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”~Dr. Seuss

Before we can find peace, joy, success and contentment in this life, we must love who we are. It is the first step toward embracing love as a lifestyle.
Step 1) LOVE YOUSELF.
Step 2) All the rest.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”~Ralph Waldo Emerson

If we are continuallly compromising who we are, and diminishing our true self with the mask of insecurity, we will never become the person we were supposed to be. A world fillied with phonies is an ugly place for sure. Once we travel down that road, it is difficult to come back as there is always someone that will find fault with something. That will keep us in a constant state of insecurity.

guys

The worst form of self deception, is when we act as though we are something we are not for ill gotten gain. Then we have become the true imposter.

“Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself – no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are – completely; the good and the bad – and make changes as YOU see fit – not because you think someone else wants you to be different.” ~Stacey Charter~

Response- Able

potholes___When I am tooling down the scenic back roads on my Victory Kingpin, I tend to be distracted by the scenery and overall excitement of my endeavor. Should I approach a lump of road kill, or perhaps a chasm of a pothole, I quickly swerve to avoid it in spite of my focus being elsewhere. Likewise for errant traffic and or wandering wildlife that may be in my path. The point is, I am able to respond to obstacles and challenges that are presented to me. All capable individuals should be able to respond to every condition life presents. This is where the word RESPONSIBLE comes from. We all need to be responsible for our own lives as well as the conditions contain therein.

The human mind is extremely resourceful. We adapt, conform, and evolve in relation to our environment and challenges. There are very creative critters out there too, but none as cunning as MAN. We have invented light to see after the sun has gone down, fire to cook with, and tools to fashion dwellings from raw material. As time moved forward we have gotten to where we have remote controlsWelfare-Cat-300x258 to operate even the easiest of gadgets, and a myriad of equipment to increase our comfort, while decreasing our labor on every front of human activity. This is a good thing. We are driven to use our minds to alleviate our burdensome labors. The problem we face today, (as with anything) is that too much of a good thing can become self-defeating! There is a VERY large percentage of our society has come to expect that all burdens be eliminated without any participation on their part. We are experiencing THE DEATH OF PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.

We have all heard the line about giving a man a fish, is feeding him for a day, while teaching him to fish will feed him for his lifetime. It seems we keep giving fish and giving fish, to the point that everyone believes that just by virtue of being alive; there should be fish on the table. The past 50 years here in the good ole’ US of A has seen many peaks and valleys with respect to our economy and employment status. There has been many programs along the way where the population that has navigated their way through these valleys, have given assistance to those that had more serious challenges. We have also gotten politically correct and all inclusive as we endeavor to avoid hurting feelings that even grade school sports teams accept everyone without try outs. We have gone too far. All of these attempts to lessen burdens, and build egos has disempowered this country. Once an individual falls into the trap of entitlement, the never re-emerge as responsible. Another danger of the entitlement mentality is the lack of self esteem that dependency creates, translates into a resentment for those that are self-sufficient. This has divided us as a nation and is growing exponentially with every passing day.

One hundred and one million people receive government assistance, while 97 million Americans are gainfully employed at full time occupations. The few are now supporting the many. We need to turn this around before there is no longer anyone taking responsibility.

images2This generation is already overwhelmed by this syndrome. We can only hope to affect the next. It is time to teach our children that you do not make the soccer team unless you are good, and work hard. You WILL FAIL and be held back in school if you do not study. Your room will grow mold until YOU clean it. No one is going to feed and house you when you are an adult unless you use your skills to take care of yourself. Like all the creatures of the wild, we were given skills to use for the purpose of creating our lives. If we refuse to use them we will lose them. Humanity will vanish. WE HAVE TO START

The Journey Is the Destination.
