When we decide to make positive changes in our lives, it can seem like progress is slow and we give up. Most of the time it is because we keep the old condition tethered to us by keeping it in focus. Complaining about how hard it is to change, or how awful life has been and all the disappointments we have seen keeps our vibration in the spot it was when we decided we needed to improve things. Our point of focus canbe financial, health, weight, relationship, career or social conditions that remain stalled even if we are diligently takingsteps to improve.
It is our attitude, perspective, attention and EXPECTATIONS that determine our life situations even more than our actions.
Upon the realization that an aspect of life is not aligned with our desire we immediately undertake that endeavor to improve things since we are habitually hard-wired to seek peace and comfort first and foremost. Then the natural tendency to wallow in the mire of our situation overtakes us. Attempting to create positive change with a mind focused on uncomfortable conditions spewing negative rhetoric is like trying paddle upstream in a river, the current of the words and thought are flowing against the direction of our desire. The mind keeps us locked on to our problematic condition despite the right actions we take.
The subconscious mind is the creative faculty of life. It attracts conditions, opportunities, and experiences synchronous with the messages and feelings the conscious mind feeds it. The subconscious mind is subjective and does not analyze, weigh or review, it only acts on whatever the conscious mind is fixed on, has emotion behind and stays with. The creative engine of life relies on input that has already determined the value of a condition. This makes it critical that our minds ONLY entertain thoughts, ideas, and perspectives that align with our desire.
We can think of our attention as currency When we pay for a tuna sandwich, someone gives us a tuna sandwich. If we pay attention to the unwanted components of life, life gives us more of those situations. What we think about, expands. We become what we think about all day long. Our attention is our creative currency. We can unlock our chains to the struggles of life by eliminating these conditions from our thoughts and focus. Only pay for what we want! It is important to be good steward of our currency.
