All about ME

If you are anything like me, the impetus for change was always the discovery of something about myself that I was not happy with. As soon as I realize something was a mess that has me on a trajectory for destruction, I immediately decide to take action. This action is usually inspired by disappointment, self-loathing and anger. Determined to change my ways, improve my life, and create the best version of myself I could imagine, I move forward grasping at any tool or piece of advice that will assist me.
Until only recently it has not dawned on me that the cause of my misdirection and catalyst for poor behavior and bad decisions was in fact the very feeling of being disappointed with life, self-loathing and anger.
At one point, Albert Einstein had referenced the inability to solve problems with the same mind that created them. That is an absolute truth.
All personal development of any kind must be predicated with self love.
I’m not referencing self love of the person I intend to become, but complete and unconditional love for myself as I am at the moment.
I cannot adequately serve others if I don’t believe I am worthy of being served myself.
I will not successfully make a positive impact on the world unless I have a positive view of myself.
I will not be able to show compassion for the struggles. I encounter of others without having compassion for myself.
Self admonishment for missing a workout, being highly critical and disappointed with a day that does not involve all intended activities, beating myself up for falling short of goals, will never lead to the greatest version of the highest vision I’ve ever held of myself.
I cannot love others, love the world, and embrace life until I completely accept myself as I am in every moment of every day.
It all begins with me. I am whole. I am complete. I am magnificent.
Repeat those three phrases every day.
