No matter what road you are cruising, be it a state road, back road or interstate highway you can get to any other road from the one you are on. I know in Maine they tell you: ”You can’t get there from here”, but that is not true. The entirety of the continental USA road system is connected. Our roads are not all that is connected. In fact; everything (EVERY-THING) is connected physically, emotionally and spiritually. We found this out during the pandemic. A person infected with a virus in Toledo, can walk around a supermarket, shoppers that touched what he touched or came in close proximity can travel to all corners of the country, attend parties, shop and socialize as usual without any concern. Then an entire village in Nairobi can get infected with the virus than came from the man in Toledo. Heck, he could have recovered from his bout and get re-infected with his own virus. Everything is connected and we never know where the connection will go.
A virus is the result of physical connection. Steps can be taken to mitigate such a spread like masks, hand washing and the like. But there is an even more insidious infection that spreads unchecked and has become debilitating yet we do not speak of it.
Anger, hatred, jealousy, rage, negativity, and fear spread farther and faster than any medical condition while delivering the potential for devastation. Visualize this:

A man wakes up on the wrong side of the bed, goes out for coffee and snaps at the barista, also argues at the convenience store and flips off a driver on the road, all before he gets to work. By the time he goes to lunch, he has shared his negativity through a dozen connections. If three of those he touched do the same, and so on: 3 to the tenth power is around 60,000, but it never stops expanding.
The exponential growth is daunting. Due to his bad mood, someone in a court case in Italy can be given the harshest sentence because the judge is in a bad mood, and a violent felon in China can kill 20 people. It starts somewhere, grows exponentially never letting us know where it goes or what outcomes arise from it.

Conversely a kind word, a good deed or eye contact with a smile are all infectious as well. Attitude, demeanor, and behavior are no respecter of the connection. It all travels the path just as quickly. What we say and do our every interaction in this world are seed that we plant for the future of our collective.
My advice to any farmer would be to only plant that which you wish to harvest. Whether you like it or not it will come back to you. Respect the connection, and choose kindness.
